DESTIN, FLA. (Oct. 7, 2022) An integral part of the Rhino Shield system, the Adhesive Primer Sealer, or APS as it’s known, has decades of proven performance.
APS an advanced elastomeric sealant that goes on milky and turns clear when cured, helping to eliminate installer error. It dries to a tacky finish for unmatched top coat adhesion and to eliminate issues with peeling. And one of the hallmarks of APS — the recoat window is only 2 hours. The newly updated formula takes their nano-technology to the next level.
Mike Moore, Director of Products and Applications, said APS was specifically designed for superior adhesion and faster dry times.
"APS is a cost-effective, user-friendly primer with decades of proven performance", said Moore. "There;s nothing quite like it on the market today. Its adhesion is like none other — in fact ASTM D4541 testing showed superior adhesion on many building surfaces — it basically becomes part of the substrate. And at less than 15 cents a square foot it’s also very cost effective."
Like the Rhino Shield finish coat, improvements have been made to APS’s properties as well. For starters, breathability has been enhanced. APS is appropriate for wood, stucco, hardy and many other substrates. The fact that it’s water based with low VOCs means it’s even easier to work with and clean up is simple. APS can be sprayed on or rolled on depending on what works best for the particular substrate.
"APS one of the very best primers for brick and cement blocks," said Moore. "But its superior spread rate means great coverage, regardless of the substrate."
Terence Andre, President of AmCoat, said Rhino Shield’s superior qualities, consumer demand and dealer benefits has caused a spike in interest in dealerships across the U.S.
"APS is the foundation for our Rhino Shield top coat," said Andre. "Our dealers love the time and money it saves. And as a premium coating, Rhino Shield offers greater profit for dealers — our typical Rhino Shield dealer earns more than $1.5 million in gross revenue with gross profits in excess of 55 percent and net profit margins of between 15 and 20 percent."
Veteran-Owned and made in the U.S.A., Rhino Shield’s elastomeric-ceramic coating goes on 8-10 times thicker than conventional paint with a long-term product warranty.
AmCoat is expanding its Rhino Shield dealer distribution network to Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, New York City, Omaha, Buffalo, Rochester, Los Angeles, Boise, Baltimore, Richmond and more.
